The IB goes far beyond academic subjects and there are so many reasons why you can congratulate yourself for choosing ABIS and the IB Programme for your child.
Every month, we will focus on a specific element of the IB (International Baccalaureate) to help understand the programme better and let you see how we live the IB philosophy at our school.
CURRENT IB FOCUS:
IB LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTES
We will showcase a different Learner Profile every month.
What is the purpose of the IB Learner Profile Attributes?
Within the IB, the learner profile focus is on the whole person as a lifelong learner. These attributes apply to everyone, both adult and child. According to the International Baccalaureate Organization, the goal of all of its programmes is to “develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet help to create a better and more peaceful world.” Developing lifelong learners who are positive contributors to society is something we at ABIS strive to achieve.
Learner Profile Attribute of the month: CARING

Learner Profile Attribute of the month: BALANCED
Especially during these uncertain times, it is so important that we take care of our mental health. Being mindful, spending time outside even when it is cold and foggy rather than sitting in front of digital devices, having time for art, music and balanced meals together with the family are just a few examples.

Learner Profile Attribute of the month: COMMUNICATORS
The IB Learner profile aims to develop students who are COMMUNICATORS. Students who are communicators understand and express ideas and information confidently and creatively in more than one language and in a variety of modes of communication. They work effectively and willingly in collaboration with others. Click on the link to learn more about this Learner Profile and see ABIS students being communicators.
